Best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 has shaken the map up completely, with an entirely new mix of locations to visit. Here are some of the best POIs to land at right now for the best loot and rotation options.

With the Island now flipped upside down (literally), the Fortnite map looks very different in Chapter 3, with three different nature biomes spread across the Island including a dry desert, a lush forest area, and icy snow-covered mountains.

Inside each of these biomes are a series of new locations like Chonker’s Speedway and The Daily Bugle, as well as some welcome throwbacks including the beloved Buttern Barn and Tilted Towers, which is currently buried under snow.

With such a huge map change, players will need to spend time figuring out which locations are now best to start a match. To help, we’ve put together five of the best places to land when you leave the Battle Bus in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1.

Best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 3

1. The Daily Bugle

The Daily Bugle landing spot in Fortnite Chapter 3

Of all the new POIs on the Fortnite Chapter 3 map, The Daily Bugle is by far the most lucrative, with a whopping 45 Chests to be discovered. There are bouncy webs and ziplines aplenty to break your fall once you reach the top, and it’s the easiest place to find Spider-Man’s Web-Shooters.

The only real downside of this POI is that it’s incredibly popular right now – mostly because of its ties to the omnipresent Marvel Cinematic Universe – so it’s a very risky place to land. Get in, stock up on weapons and healing items, and make a quick web-slinging getaway through one of the exits.

2. Chonker’s Speedway

One of the coolest new POIs on the Fortnite Chapter 3 map is Chonker’s Speedway, essentially a giant racing track surrounded by buildings ripe for looting. There are 39 regular Chests in the immediate vicinity and a Seven Outpost containing three high-tier Supply Chests located down the road.

This is also a great place to land if you’re looking to have fun, as a set of sports cars with off-road tires will spawn here at the start of every match. These are perfect for traversing the Island’s difficult terrains – or simply racing around the dirt track with your mates (and running over your opponents, obviously).

3. Sleepy Sound

Residential locations like Pleasant Park and Lazy Lake were some of the most popular locations throughout Fortnite Chapter 2, but with the new map scrapping them all, players will want to head to Sleepy Sound, a waterside town filled with rows of houses to loot in quick succession.

It’s also one of the most unique locations on the Chapter 3 map, as you’ll get the best of both worlds when it comes to transport: Loads of vehicles and a gas station for land travel, and plenty of boats and open waters for a quick ocean getaway when you need it most.

4. Shifty Shafts

Shifty Shafts has finally returned to the Fortnite map! While this Chapter 1 fan-favorite may not be the most loot-heavy POI to land at, it’s the perfect location for those who prefer to play stealthy and wrack up XP from eliminations in the busy early game thanks to its sprawling, maze-like tunnels.

It’s also a great location to farm all three materials for building, there are plenty of animal spawns nearby if you need them for a challenge, and there are just enough Chests hidden around the mines to give you a solid start in any match. We’d recommend this landing spot for experienced players only.

5. Pawntoon (Loot Boat)

One of the most exciting Fortnite landmarks to return in Chapter 3 is the Pawntoon, otherwise known as the ‘Loot Boat’. This elusive boat, which looks like a small pirate ship, contains Supply Chests with loads of high-tier weapons and healing items, making it a great (and quiet) place to start a match.

The catch? It’s always on the move, so the chances of finding it are very slim. The only real advice we can give is that the loot boat never appear on lakes or rivers inside the Island, so your best option is to land near the coastline and hope that you spot it in the distance.

Epic Games have already teased that they’ll be making more map changes as Fortnite Chapter 3 progresses, so it’s likely there will be new landing spots appearing in the future. We’ll keep you updated.
